No More Airline Fees?!

tsa pre-check tip —passengers on plane

This week United, American, Delta, Alaskan and Hawaiian Airlines made announcements that they would be permanently eliminating the fees that result from changing or canceling a flight.

Most airlines temporarily waived these fees at the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic back in March, but now they have decided to remove the fees for good.

In the past, these fees have brought in billions of dollars annually and in some cases could cost travelers up to $200 per change!

As part of these new policies, you will retain the value of your ticket. If the new flight costs less than the previously purchased flight, you will be refunded the difference. And if your new flight is more expensive, you will be required to pay the difference.

Implementing this policy will certainly offer travelers more flexibility and peace of mind when booking flights in advance. Plus, there’s no limit on how many times you can change your flights without penalty.
