MOTHERHOOD: Happy 2 Months, Everly!

Where has the time gone? I honestly thought that being indoors with a baby, constantly feeding, would make the time really drag but actually I would quite like to press pause so that I can savour every moment. I now understand what people mean when they say that each phase flies by – Everly is now so long in the legs that I’ve had to put her in 3-6 month clothes! 😭

But can you believe that my little Everly is already 2 months (and 2 days) old?! I certainly can’t. She’s growing quicker than I thought and I want to have her as a little newborn forever. Sadly, that’s not possible. With that being said, Everly is not the little tiny newborn we once knew. She is growing and exploring the world around her everyday.

During her 6 week checkup, Everly weighed 12 lbs 7 oz and is 24" tall. The first half of March was 😵; she was a night owl. But for the last 2 weeks, her sleep schedule has been 9:30pm - 5:30am with one bottle feeding around 2am. We discovered that starting her bedtime routine at 8 pm helps since she would fall asleep between 9 - 10 pm. It has been working great for us because it’s the only way that she sleeps throughout the night.

During the last couple of weeks Everly has been exploring her surroundings (ie: ceiling fans, wall decors... etc). It is safe to say that she knows exactly who Mama and Dada are. She stares right into our eyes the entire time when we bottle feed her. Everly loves cuddling while laying on our chest and wiggling her way down to our stomach to lay on her side.

I feed her at least 4-5 oz every 2-3 hours. There's days when she's hungry every hour and my boobs just  can't produce enough so I have to supplement with Similac Infant Supplementation (provided to us by her pediatrician 🙌 ). I can't believe she's already wearing size 2 diapers.

Pacifier - she still refuses to take the pacifier.

Peanutshell Blanket - a super soft plush blanket on one side and silk on the other 😍 She loves to cuddle with it. And with Babies R Us closing, I might need to purchase another one.

Hands - she has now discovered her hands and loves to suck on it.

As for me, I feel more comfortable in my new role as a mom. The first weeks were extremely tough but as the time goes by the fears I had about entering motherhood have started to fade away. (If you know me in real life, I never in my life have held a baby for more than 5 minutes ...nor have I changed a diaper. I never saw myself being a mom. But then again, you're never ready to be a mom until you are one. To be honest, it's the best feeling in the world.) Exercise has been something I’ve been putting to the aside mostly because I HATE exercising and have no motivation to do so. 😖 The perks of working at a Dermatologist office - free laser treatments. Yes, the lazy way out; I'm not embarrassed to admit it. The other main reason is due to my bad back which occurred before I was pregnant. Sometime in my mid-20s, I just started having sporadic back pain; Acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments never helped. Any advice you can give me would be great! 😊

I can’t wait to see what next month will be like. Will it be full of new milestones and surprises or will it be similar to this month? I can’t wait to keep sharing with you the growth of Everly!
